Mantengu CEO fires back at Paul O’Sullivan: “he is a sellout to criminals”

Mantengu Mining CEO Michael Miller has launched a fierce attack on private investigator Paul O’Sullivan, accusing him of betraying South Africa’s justice system by aligning with what he describes as a “criminal enterprise” connected to controversial businessman Zunaid Moti.

In a heated interview with financial journalist Alec Hogg, Miller branded O’Sullivan a “sellout,” alleging that he accepted both money and company shares in exchange for withdrawing sworn affidavits implicating Moti and his associates in corruption and fraud.

“Paul O’Sullivan took money and shares to withdraw those affidavits. That’s not integrity — that’s betrayal,” Miller declared. “He sold out to a criminal enterprise that has been undermining the country’s economic and legal systems.”

The confrontation marks a significant escalation in the long-running feud between O’Sullivan and the Moti Group, which has been embroiled in multiple legal battles over allegations ranging from racketeering to fraud.

Moti has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, while O’Sullivan has long portrayed himself as a corruption-buster committed to exposing white-collar crime.Miller’s comments, however, paint a very different picture — one that suggests O’Sullivan may have compromised his principles for personal gain.

“You cannot claim to fight corruption and then accept bribes from those you once accused,” Miller added.Analysts say the accusations could reignite scrutiny around both men, particularly as South Africa grapples with public distrust in corporate and political accountability. O’Sullivan, known for his investigations into high-profile corruption cases, has not yet issued an official response to Miller’s claims.

The explosive allegations have sparked heated debate online, with many South Africans demanding transparency and accountability from all parties involved.
