Striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, who initially showed promise during his early days at Kaizer Chiefs, finds himself on the verge of an uncertain future. Recent reports suggest that the club is contemplating severing ties with him.

Reliable sources close to Unplayable reveal that the Burundi striker’s contract may be terminated through mutual agreement. Bimenyimana, 25 years old, joined the Naturena-based club at the start of the season, impressing during trials. Initially, it was expected that his contract would extend until the following season, with an additional year’s option.

Unfortunately, the club’s management has grown dissatisfied with his lackluster performances, particularly in the second half of the season, where he struggled to find the back of the net. The situation was exacerbated by his replacement in the starting lineup by Congolese forward Christian Saile, limiting Bimenyimana’s playing opportunities.

Should the decision to part ways with him be finalized, Bimenyimana’s last appearance for Chiefs would have been against SuperSport United at the Rustenburg sports complex, where the team suffered a 1-0 defeat. However, he only played for a mere three minutes.

It remains to be seen where Bimenyimana’s career will take him next. However, if he fails to adapt to the standards of South African football, he may struggle to attract attention and find himself seeking opportunities elsewhere. Prior to his arrival in South Africa, he plied his trade in Eastern Europe, starting at Rigas FS in Latvia and later joining Kaisar in Kazakhstan.

For Chiefs to mount a serious title challenge in the upcoming season, it is imperative that they part ways with Bimenyimana and secure a more proficient striker who can deliver the desired goals. With only 32 goals scored by the Glamour Boys throughout the season, barely surpassing one goal per game, it is evident that the club’s stature demands much better.
