Fikile Mbalula vows to “accelerate prosperity for all” through ANC’s 10-Point Plan

African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says the governing party remains committed to delivering a better life for all South Africans through renewed focus on economic transformation.
Speaking during a party briefing, Mbalula said the ANC’s 10 Point Economic Action Plan aims to accelerate social and economic prosperity and ensure that no South African is left behind. “We made a promise to our people to bring about a better life for all. We have moved the needle since the dawn of democracy and further want to accelerate social and economic prosperity for all the motive forces by implementing our 10 Point Economic Action Plan,” he said.
Mbalula emphasised that the plan will focus on boosting industrialisation, supporting township and rural economies, tackling unemployment, and promoting inclusive growth. He added that the ANC’s long-term vision remains rooted in addressing inequality and ensuring fair access to opportunities.
Political analysts note that Mbalula’s remarks come at a time when the ANC faces increasing pressure to show tangible progress on economic issues ahead of upcoming elections. “The 10 Point Plan could be the ANC’s attempt to reposition itself as a party of delivery amid declining public trust,” said governance expert Prof. Sipho Seepe.
The Secretary-General also urged unity among ANC members, warning against internal divisions that could derail the implementation of the party’s economic vision. “Our movement must act with urgency and discipline to ensure that our policies translate into real change for our people,” Mbalula stated.
As South Africa battles rising unemployment and persistent inequality, Mbalula’s message underscores the ANC’s intention to rebuild its credibility through practical economic reform.
