A waitress at Mugg & Bean in Kruger National Parkβs Lower Sabie Rest Camp discovered a massive African Rock Python coiled behind the coffee machine on Saturday, 1 November. The incident occurred just before opening time when the waitress mistook the snake for a moving cable.
It is said the waitress screamed and froze in shock. SANParks rangers were called to the scene and safely removed the three-meter python, later releasing it back into the wild.
African Rock Pythons are non-venomous but are the largest snake species in Africa. Their presence near human areas is not unusual during hot months when they seek cooler spots.
