A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken a South African community following the death of a young mother, Refiloe, who was allegedly poisoned during a family gathering. According to friends and social media accounts, Refiloe attended an event linked to her home recently, with some mentions pointing to Burgersfort in Limpopo Province, though the exact location remains unconfirmed.

Shortly afterwards, she fell gravely ill and was admitted to hospital. In what would be one of her last conversations, Refiloe confided in a close friend that doctors were “fighting the poison” in her body. She claimed she had been poisoned at the family event.

Despite intensive medical intervention, she passed away, leaving behind two very young children — a daughter and a son. The news has sparked widespread sorrow and outrage online, with many South Africans warning others to exercise caution when eating food or drinking beverages at gatherings. “People are jealous of even your smallest wins,” one Facebook user wrote in a tribute post. “Behind the smiles of some friends and relatives can be deadly intentions.”
