Pregnant Lady Was Allegedly Stabbed Multiple Times To Death By Her Boyfriend In Leeuwfontein

A tragic incident has shaken the community after a 31-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 23-year-old pregnant girlfriend to death at the Leeuwfontein RDP section.
According to police reports, officers received information from community members about a severely injured woman. Upon arrival at the scene, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. Emergency medical personnel were called, but she was declared dead on the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the woman was attacked by her boyfriend, who fled immediately after the incident. In a swift response, police followed up on intelligence and arrested the suspect in the early hours of Wednesday, 20 August, at a hiding spot in Elandskraal.
Further investigations revealed that the deceased was four months pregnant at the time of her death, intensifying the gravity of the crime. The suspect has since been charged with murder and is scheduled to appear before the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 21 August 2025.It also emerged that this was not the first violent altercation between the pair.
In May this year, the suspect was arrested for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) against the same victim. He made several appearances at the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court, but the matter was withdrawn after the victim submitted a withdrawal request statement, leading to his release in July 2025.Police confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue. The case has sparked outrage within the community, with many questioning the cycle of violence that ultimately led to this devastating outcome.
